Several years ago we started a few Christmas Traditions that we hope to pass along to our children for them to carry out with their own children in the future. We visit Christmas City, a church campground that displays over 1 million lights every year and Santa is there on Friday and Saturday nights for the children. The lights are all focused on the main reason for Christmas. Christ.
Every year there is a new exhibit or a new set of lights. The campground runs only on donations and does not charge to drive through. This is such a beautiful work of art and the kids are in awe every time we go. We usually go more than once between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We haven’t been brave enough to ride the train through in the cold but there is a nice train that gives the tour and also on special nights there is a horse and carriage that is available for the ride.
Between the Christmas music playing and the lights this will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas!
And this year both kids decided Santa wasn’t scary and they were able to sit in his lap and get pictures. Bless those sweet people for sitting out in the cold to make so many kids happy!
I hope you enjoyed this small glimpse into one of our favorite holiday traditions.
What traditions do you and your family enjoy?

I love Christmas but we don’t really have any traditions. We decorate the tree together and my Mum and I cook the Christmas pudding and cake together.
So nice to see decorations that feature Christ rather than focusing on the materialistic side!

These community Christmas celebrations are a must! There are quite a few in my area and most are only a couple of dollars for admission or free. We go to different ones each year and I agree these are a great tradition! There is just something about walking around in the cold looking at the lights. It looks like you found a great one, thanks so much for taking us along on your trip and for sharing it with the Christmas Party!
What a lovely tradition. It is always so much fun to wander around on a brisk night to take in the lovely lights and decorations. Happy Holidays! Linda
Great pictures! One million lights!?!? That’s a lot! Visiting from the “Show Me Your Tree” blog hop! Merry Christmas!
